McDermott+Consulting Expands Advocacy and Policy Strength with Two Director Additions

Washington, DC (September 16, 2021) – McDermott+Consulting, a national healthcare lobbying and policy consulting firm, announces Amy Kelbick and Mary Beth Bresch White have joined as directors, helping clients further their advocacy and health policy initiatives.

“We are excited to further expand McDermottPlus and welcome Amy and Mary Beth to the team,” said Eric Zimmerman, principal of McDermottPlus. “They are both well-established and highly experienced health advocacy and policy professionals who will enhance our existing capabilities.”

Amy helps clients develop and pursue advocacy strategies, evaluate health policy proposals and anticipate policy changes. She joins McDermottPlus from the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP). Amy collaborated with AARP’s state offices and other federal partners to help lead federal advocacy efforts for crucial prescription drug pricing reforms and other stakeholder issues. She recently developed policy and advocacy priorities in response to accessibility for those over the age of 50 seeking the COVID-19 vaccine. Previously, Amy spent almost a decade on Capitol Hill, serving as a senior policy advisor and senior legislative assistant, including with a Member on a Congressional panel with broad health policy jurisdiction.

“I look forward to joining a team helping shape advocacy and improve healthcare outcomes for everyone,” Amy said.

Mary Beth Bresch White has experience managing federal affairs programs for a spectrum of companies across the healthcare industry. Her background includes successfully spearheading nursing quality measures, cross-collaboration medical teams, care coordination and federal health certifications. Mary Beth joins McDermottPlus from Bresch White Consulting, where she provided leadership to a wide range of healthcare companies and associations in health, innovation and technology. She previously served in health policy and advocacy roles with the American Nurses Association, the Association of American Medical Colleges and The Joint Commission and Hill-Rom. Mary Beth is a long-time member of Health on Wednesday, a network for Washington area women in healthcare leadership positions to engage in discussions relevant to private and public sectors and issues before Congress and the administration.

“McDermottPlus has earned its reputation for being the leader in consulting for today’s rapidly changing healthcare industry, and I am thrilled to be a part of the work they are doing,” said Mary Beth Bresch White.
