Senate Republicans Released an ACA Repeal and Replace Bill Discussion Draft, the “Better Care Reconciliation Act of 2017,” on June 22, 2017

On June 22, the Senate released a discussion draft of its proposal to repeal and replace portions of the ACA, known as The Better Care Reconciliation Act (BCRA). This document prepared by McDermottPlus, offers a side-by-side comparison of the major provisions of the bill compared to the AHCA passed by the House last month and current law under the ACA. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has indicated that he is hoping to vote on the bill in the Senate next week but additional information is needed from the Congressional Budget Office and the Parliamentarian to proceed. We will continue to provide updates as the Senate outlook develops over the next week.
