WASHINGTON, DC (January 16, 2024) – McDermott+Consulting, a national healthcare lobbying and policy consulting firm, announces the promotion of three consultants: Rachel Stauffer to vice president, Rachel Hollander to director and Priya Rathakrishnan to manager.

Rachel Stauffer is a highly experienced government relations and legislative affairs strategist. Prior to joining McDermott+Consulting, she worked in several government affairs and policy roles, including as a senior health policy staffer for several Members of Congress and as head of government affairs for a virtual care company. She also served as the lead legislative liaison at the US Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT, where she provided research, analysis and feedback to Members of Congress and their staff on the 21st Century Cures Act.
Rachel Hollander delivers strategic reimbursement and health policy insights to clients across the healthcare and life sciences industries. She combines her technical understanding of coding and physician reimbursement issues with her skill navigating the market access process to help healthcare clients with new and innovative technologies achieve their goals. In addition to her knowledge on a range of regulatory issues related to Medicare rate-setting and reimbursement, Rachel has a strong understanding of how the American Medical Association Current Procedural Terminology (CPT®) and Relative Value Update Committee (RUC) process works.
Priya Rathakrishnan delivers comprehensive research and analysis of key federal healthcare legislative initiatives and policy developments. She assists clients with organizing and pursuing advocacy strategies, including coordinating coalition and client collaborations to achieve policy goals. In addition, she provides real-time monitoring and analysis of fast-breaking legislative, policy and regulatory updates in Washington, DC.
