McDermottPlus collaborated with diverse industry stakeholders to persuade the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to revise outdated Medicare regulations establishing the Date of Service for certain laboratory tests. The targeted regulation created obstacles that stymied technological innovation, discouraged investment and hampered patient access to cutting-edge technologies.
McDermottPlus designed policy-based solutions, developed and implemented lobbying strategies, organized stakeholder engagement and advanced recommendations with senior leaders at CMS, the US Department of Health and Human Services and the White House Office of Management and Budget. McDermottPlus also designed and led a congressional engagement strategy to support the proposed changes.
