August 20, 2026 – For the last seven years, I’ve had the privilege of writing Regs & Eggs, sharing thoughts, observations, and analysis on the ever-evolving world of healthcare policy and regulation. As I write this post, I find myself reflecting on just how much ground we’ve covered together.
The Regs & Eggs journey actually began in 2019 when I was at the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP). The blog focused largely on the important policy issues affecting emergency physicians and the patients they serve, diving deep into the regulatory and public health challenges facing the United States’ emergency departments. In 2023, I joined McDermott+, and I was fortunate enough to have Regs & Eggs come with me. Over the past three years, I’ve had the opportunity to write about a plethora of topics spanning Medicare payment, Medicaid policy, public health initiatives, price transparency requirements, the No Surprises Act, coverage policy, healthcare innovation, and countless developments emerging from federal agencies.
One of the things I’ve enjoyed most about writing Regs & Eggs is that healthcare policy never stands still. Every proposed rule, final rule, or guidance document provides an opportunity to better understand how policy decisions affect patients, providers, health plans, employers, manufacturers, and other stakeholders across the healthcare ecosystem. Trying to make sense of those developments, and occasionally explain them over breakfast, has been both professionally rewarding and personally enjoyable.
I would be remiss if I did not acknowledge my incredible colleagues at M+. Some of my favorite posts were the ones I had the opportunity to coauthor with teammates whose expertise and insight consistently made the work better. I am grateful for the relationships I have built here.
I am also deeply thankful to everyone who has read the blog over the years. Whether you’ve been with me since the ACEP days, joined along the way at M+, or discovered Regs & Eggs more recently, thank you. In a world overflowing with policy newsletters, alerts, podcasts, and social media commentary, I never took for granted that readers chose to spend part of their day with Regs & Eggs.
As some of you may know, I will be leaving M+. While this is my final Regs & Eggs post from M+, I hope it is far from my last regulatory blog post overall. Healthcare policy remains as dynamic, consequential, and fascinating as ever, and I fully expect there will be more regulations worth discussing over eggs in the future.
So, this is not necessarily goodbye to Regs & Eggs. Rather, it is goodbye to one chapter and the beginning of another.
For those interested in following along, I will be updating my LinkedIn profile in the coming weeks with more information about my next endeavor. Also, if you would like to continue receiving my blog posts, please fill out this survey. I’ll be in touch as soon as possible with an update on the future of Regs & Eggs.
Until then, thank you for reading, thank you for engaging, and thank you for joining me on this journey. It has truly been my pleasure.
Until next time, this is Jeffrey saying, enjoy reading regs with your eggs.
