For the first time, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) posted quality ratings for all health plans offered on the Federal Exchange during the 2020 Open Enrollment period. Ratings are visible to patients on healthcare.gov while they are comparing health plans on the Exchange.
This rating system evaluates plans based on how well a plan manages care, member experience and satisfaction, and plan administration. The highest rating a plan can receive is five stars. CMS intends for this new rating to better inform patients on the quality and price of a health plan.
Open Enrollment for CY 2020 is open here and closes on December 15.
