PTAC Update: New Oncology Medical Home Model Open for Comment

The Physician-Focused Payment Model Technical Advisory Committee (PTAC) is soliciting comments through February 18, 2020, on a new proposed payment model: The Patient-Centered Oncology Payment (PCOP) Model. This model is a multi-payer, community-based oncology medical home that incorporates clinical treatment pathways, performance metrics, and practice incentives.

All comments should be addressed to the Designated Federal Officer for PTAC and sent by email to Comments will be posted on the ASPE PTAC website approximately one week after the public comment period closes. Members of the public may also comment on proposals at PTAC public meetings during which PTAC deliberates on proposals. All such meetings and procedures for registering will be announced in the Federal Register at least 15 days before such meetings.

Established by the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA), PTAC is tasked with providing comments and recommendations to CMS on physician payment models. The Committee includes 11 members who are nationally recognized for their expertise in physician-focused payment models and related delivery of care.
