In light of the recent COVID-19 outbreak and its impact on the healthcare industry, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) extended the payer solicitation period for the Primary Care First (PCF) Model until May 20, 2020.
The PCF Model aims to reduce Medicare spending on unnecessary inpatient hospital visits by incentivizing care coordination and other advanced primary care functions. PCF is designed as a multi-payer model, with CMS seeking payer partners that can align with the PCF payment methodology—including two-sided risk—quality measurement strategy, and data sharing approach.
A fact sheet, press release, FAQ and additional information and resources are available on the PCF Model website.
