The Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA) requires the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC) to conduct a mandated report on clinician payment examining the relationship between Medicare’s payments to clinicians and the supply of and quality of care provided by those clinicians. The report is due July 1, 2019.
MedPAC is scheduled to discuss this report at their September 6, 2018, meeting. Additional information and an agenda of this public meeting is available here.
MedPAC is an independent congressional agency established by the Balanced Budget Act of 1997 (P.L. 105-33) to advise the U.S. Congress on issues affecting the Medicare program. More information on MedPAC is available on their website.
