The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced that it is delaying the start of the Emergency Triage, Treat, and Transport (ET3) Model from May 1, 2020, until an unspecified date this fall. The agency stated this decision is in response to the current public health emergency and the demand of applicants to respond to current needs during this global pandemic.
The ET3 Model is a voluntary five-year payment model designed to provide additional flexibilities to ambulance care teams. More information about the model can be found on the ET3 Model website.
