CMS Solicits Nominations for Participation on a Technical Expert Panel to Develop Inpatient Outcome Measures for MIPS

July 05, 2017

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has contracted with Yale New Haven Health Services Corporation Center for Outcomes Research and Evaluation (CORE) to adapt claims-based hospital measures to assess the quality of care provided to Medicare beneficiaries by clinicians who are eligible to participate in the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS).

CMS/CORE is recruiting experts (e.g., frontline clinicians, patients/caregivers, professional societies, measure methods experts) to participate on a Technical eExpert Panel (TEP) to inform the development of inpatient outcome measures for the MIPS. The TEP will provide input on approaches to measure attribution that could apply to multiple measures and help shape the approach to one or two specific measures on a full range of measure specifications, including attribution, cohort, and risk adjustment.

More information on the nomination process is available here.
