The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) recently posted three new fact sheets on the Quality Payment Program (QPP).
Medicare Shared Saving Program and the Quality Payment Program for Performance in Year 2017 Affecting Payment in 2019
This fact sheet describes the alignment of the reporting requirements for the QPP and the Shared Savings Program.
MIPS APMs in the Quality Payment Program
Starting on January 1, 2017, Eligible Clinicians are able to participate in the QPP through two tracks: the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) or Advanced Alternative Payment Models (APMs). In the Advanced APM track, participants can earn incentives for achieving thresholds levels of payments or patients through Advanced APMs. These participants are excluded from MIPS reporting requirements and payment adjustments. Participants of a subset of APMs known as MIPS APMs are not excluded from MIPS, but are scored through a special scoring standard. This special scoring standard is designed to account for activities already required by the APM. This fact sheet includes a list of the APMs CMS has identified as MIPS APMs for the 2017 QPP and it also describes the MIPS APM scoring standard.
Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS): CAHPS® for MIPS Conditionally-Approved Survey Vendors
This fact sheet lists the survey vendors CMS conditionally approved to administer the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS®) MIPS survey for 2017.
