The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) is hosting an in-person and live-streamed meeting on September 20 to provide an overview of CMS activity related to opioid use disorder prevention and solicit stakeholder input on developing an action plan for Congress to prevent opioid addiction and coverage for medication-assisted treatment (MAT). Registration for this event is available here.
The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is required to provide Congress with an action plan to address the opioid epidemic, as required by the Substance Use-Disorder Prevention that Promotes Opioid Recovery and Treatment for Patients and Communities (SUPPORT) Act. This report is to be submitted to Congress by January 1, 2020.
