PTAC Solicits Comments on a New Proposal

The Physician-Focused Payment Model Technical Advisory Committee (PTAC) is soliciting comments until July 23, 2018 on a proposal for a new physician-focused payment model (PFPM):

Members of the public may file written statements on proposals. Comments should be addressed to the Designated Federal Officer for PTAC and sent by email to Comments will be posted on the PTAC website approximately one week after the public comment period closes.

Statements from CMS Administrator and PTAC Chair

CMS Administrator Seema Verma and PTAC Chair Dr. Jeffrey Bailet issued statements regarding their meeting on June 14. The statements indicated a commitment to continued collaboration on model development between PTAC and CMS. Their statements are available here.

Letter of Intent

PTAC recently received a new letter of intent. Johns Hopkins School of Nursing and Stanford Clinical Excellence Research Center plan to submit a proposal, Community Aging in Place—Advancing Better Living for Elders (CAPABLE). The letter of intent is available on the PTAC website.

The Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA) established the PTAC to provide comments and recommendations to the Secretary of Health and Human Services on physician payment models. There are 11 members on the committee.  Additional information is available here.
