PTAC Solicits Comments on Model for Low-Risk Maternity Care Provided by Midwife-led Birth Center

The Physician-Focused Payment Model Technical Advisory Committee (PTAC) is soliciting comments until July 20, 2017, on a model for a Single Bundled Payment for Comprehensive Low-Risk Maternity and Newborn Care Provided by Independent Midwife Led Birth Center Practices that Are Clinically Integrated with Physician and Hospital Services. The model was submitted by the Minnesota Birth Center.

Established by the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA), PTAC is tasked with providing comments and recommendations to CMS on physician payment models. The Committee includes 11 members who are nationally recognized for their expertise in physician-focused payment models and related delivery of care.
