PTAC Submits Report to the Secretary; Registration Open for Upcoming Public Meeting

February 13, 2019

The Physician-Focused Payment Model Technical Advisory Committee (PTAC) submitted a report to the Secretary of the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) with its recommendation for the Making Accountable Sustainable Oncology Networks (MASON) model, which was submitted by Innovative Oncology Business Solutions, Inc. At its December 2018 public meeting, PTAC recommended further developing and implementing the proposal as a payment model.

The Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 established PTAC to provide comments and recommendations to the HHS Secretary on physician payment models. The statute requires the Secretary to review PTAC’s comments and recommendations on proposals and to post a detailed response to those comments and recommendations on the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services website. There is no required timeline for the Secretary’s response to PTAC’s comments and recommendations.

March 2019 Meeting Registration Open

  • PTAC will hold a public meeting on Monday, March 11, 2019, to deliberate and vote on proposals submitted to the Committee. Online registration for the meeting is available here.

Additional information is available on the PTAC website.
