Maternal Opioid Misuse Model Funding Opportunity Announced

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (Innovation Center) will execute up to 12 cooperative agreements with states whose Medicaid agencies will implement the Maternal Opioid Misuse (MOM) model with one or more “care-delivery partners” in their communities. The Notice of Funding Opportunity is now available. Applications must be submitted by 3 pm EST on May 6, 2019.

The MOM model addresses fragmentation in the care of pregnant and postpartum Medicaid beneficiaries with opioid use disorder through state-driven transformation of the delivery system surrounding this vulnerable population. It supports the coordination of clinical care and the integration of other services critical for health, wellbeing and recovery.

A fact sheet on the model is available here. More information is also available on the Innovation Center website.
