House Ways and Means Committee Seeks Input on Rural Health Solutions

November 19, 2019

On Friday, November 15, the House Ways and Means Committee released a request for information (RFI) on healthcare outcomes of rural communities to help inform future bipartisan legislation to improve care delivery in underserved and rural communities.

The RFI requests feedback from interested stakeholders on priority topics that affect health status and outcomes for populations in these communities. Specifically the committee is interested in comments that address healthcare-related factors that influence patient outcomes; successful models that have demonstrated a positive impact on underserved and rural communities; patient volume adequacy in rural areas; approaches that have successfully addressed gaps in access to providers for oral, behavioral  and substance abuse services; improving the availability of post-acute care and long-term services; types of data needed to better understand the needs of these communities; and programmatic efforts that can improve patient safety and quality of care.

Comments are due by Friday, November 29, 2019.
