The U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) named the new Chair and Vice-Chair for the board of the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI). Christine Goertz, DC, Ph.D. will serve a three-year term as the Chair of the board and Sharon Levine, MD will serve a three-year term as Vice-Chair. The GAO announcement can be found here.
The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2019 established PCORI to fund research to help patients make better informed decisions about healthcare. PCORI is a government run research organization focusing on investigating the relative effectiveness for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease.
