The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation announced the Emergency Triage, Treat, and Transport (ET3) Model request for applications (RFA) deadline has been extended until October 5, 2019. The application is available here.
ET3 aims to reduce costs associated with emergency care. Under this voluntary five-year payment model which is scheduled to launch in 2020, ambulance providers will be paid by Medicare for transport not only to emergency departments but also to alternative lower-cost sites, such as urgent care centers or primary care providers.
More information about this model can be found on the ET3 webpage.
